At least one of the two endfaces of the rotatable shaft (2) or of the non rotatable thrust element (1) for the feed direction is angled with a selectable small angle (alpha) and a ball (3) spring, clamped between these two surfaces at a preadjustable radius, rotates with the rotation of the axially fixed shaft (2) and, forced by the wedge, transmits a backward-forward feed. The thrust element (4) and the rotatable shaft (7) clamp a pin (6) by means of eccentrically lying depressions (5,8) in the endfaces. Upon rotation of the shaft, an eccentrically lying volute is described and transmits the periodic thrust movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fine adjustment system. Gives forward and backward movement in micrometer range, such that fine setting can be achieved in entire coarse adjustment range. Lower cost.
