Lockable differential drive for vehicle - includes mechanism exerting pressure on lamellar coupling

The lockable differential is for a vehicle. It incorporates a differential cage (11), two half shafts and a friction plate coupling (25) for the connection of the cage with one of the half shafts. The coupling has a number of lamellaw (27,28) axially pressed together by an actuation device (34) having two pressure pieces (26b,29) whereby one of the pressure pieces works with a reaction member without involving the housing (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Differential drive in which the longitudinal forces do not adversely affect the bearings of the differential cage.
