PURPOSE:To prevent offset to a fixing roller and a fault caused by the offset from occurring by providing a paper quality detecting means in a transfer material carrying path and switching a carrying speed to a speed approriate for a plain paper when the plain paper is detected in a state where an OHP sheet feeding mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:In the case of selecting an OHP sheet in a multicolor mode, a detection signal from a sheet material (paper quality) detecting means 18 provided in the transfer material carrying path is inputted in a speed control part 17, and the speed of a stepping motor 13 is controlled according to the detected material of the sheet. When a monochrome mode is selected, the carrying speed for monochrome is set and a multicolor mode is selected, and when a plain paper mode is selected, the 1st carrying speed for multicolor lower than the carrying speed for monochrome is set and the multicolor mode is selected, and when the OHP sheet is selected, the 2nd carrying speed for multicolor lower than the 1st carrying speed for multicolor is set. At the time of detecting the sheet having the material other than the OHP sheet by the means 18, the carrying speed is switched to the 1st carrying speed for multicolor. |
