Rotary body, is of fibre composite structure and is U-shaped with wall thickness which varies in the longitudinal direction of the component to maintain a 45 deg. fibre orientation. Prepreg cloth pieces are used to vary thickness, extending over the whole length of the generating and overlapping in the longitudinal direction by an amount related to the required thickness variation. ADVANTAGE - High strength can be obtained with low amt. of labour by lay up technique.
