PURPOSE:To satisfy both the coating suitability and the film formation of coating on the surface of a molded article by a method wherein the viscosity of the paint to be used for in-mold coating is set within the specified low range. CONSTITUTION:After SMC 2 as molding material is arranged between the top and the bottom forces 10A and 10B of a mold 10, mold clamping is performed by driving a top force driving section 12. Under the above-mentioned state, coating (thermosetting coating) 4, the viscosity of which is set to be 110+ or -30 poise, is poured under high pressure through a coating discharging unit 18, which is provided in the top force 10B. Then, after the coating 4 is spread over the whole surface of a formed SMC molded article by raising mold clamping pressure, the pressure is lowered to the predetermined value so as to retain the molded article for the predetermined period of time at the lowered pressure. Thus, an in-mold coating product is completed and, after the mold is opened, taken out of the mold so as to allow to obtain the in-mold coated product excellent in surface quality. |
