The liq. is drained (2) into open reservoirs (3) for sepn. of entrained air, and forwarded through constrictions (4) and a valve (5) into a measuring line (6). When an underlying valve (7) is closed the liq. level rising to a lower barrier (8) starts a timing device (10). The time taken to fill the container (11) to the upper barrier (12) is measured before the valve (7) opens. The measured liq. is collected into a tank (15) and recycled (17) by a pump (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - In lubrication of aero engine bearings, simple system allows precise automatic measurement of specified quantity of oil.
