Photoreceptors containing arylamine compounds to facilitate the transport of electrical charge in and between component layer are rendered less susceptible to damage by liquid developers by using a hydroxy arylamine compound represented by the formula: s is 0, 1 or 2, the dihydroxy arylamine compound being free of any direct conjugation between the -OH groups and the nearest nitrogen atom through one or more aromatic rings.
