<p>A wheeled vehicle carries a reel 3 on to which part of a long length of hose may be coiled, with the end of the hose coupled to a hose connection 10 which conveys water to a hollow axle 7 about which the reel 3 rotates and through a swivel coupling 12 to a hollow shaft 13 from which the water flows through shorter hoses 16, mounted on long arms 14, to nozzles 17. Passage of the water from the nozzles causes the arms 14 to rotate about a vertical or nearly vertical axis and this rotation is transmitted to the reel 3 which rotates. Rotation of the reel 3, which is preferably disposed with its axis vertical, causes more of the hose to become coiled on the reel and this in turn causes the vehicle to move along the ground. <IMAGE></p> |
