A plasmid for use in producing an inflamed region derived phospholipase A2 inhibitory protein; a microbial cell transformed with the plasmid; a process for producing the protein by culturing the cell; and the protein thus produced and an allergic reaction suppresor containing it as the active ingredient. The plasmid contains a DNA sequence coding for a rat or human inflamed region derived phospholipase A2 inhibitory protein and a DNA sequence having a promoter function of regulating the expression of the protein. Escherichia coli is mainly used as the host cell.
