PURPOSE:To display images in the assigned regions of arbitrary sizes and shapes by constituting the above device by facilitating the control of the writing of image information in a picture element unit into a display memory having the plural picture element-components of the display screen as an access unit. CONSTITUTION:Since the access unit of the display unit is n picture element- components, an extraction region B is generally the assigned region A which is expanded. The image information of the expanded part on the outside of the region A is added and recorded to the image information of the assigned region A is an external memory device. Management information is simultaneously recorded. Image reproduction is executed in the extraction region B unit by the management information. The mask information to discriminate the image information within the extraction region B and others is formed by the management information and the image information of the regions exclusive of the assigned region A in the access unit is masked and is written into the display memory. This image information is read out of the display memory 1 under the control of a display control circuit 3 and is supplied to a display device through a synthesizing circuit 4 and a D/A conversion circuit 5, by which the information is displayed. |
