PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as a synthetic raw material for polymer modifier, adhesive, secondary recovering agent of petroleum, drug, etc., under relatively mild condition in high yield by thermally decomposing an aminoamide in the presence of a catalytic amount of a specific acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formula (R1 is H or methyl; R2 to R5 are 1-4C) is thermally decomposed in a liquid phase in the presence of 1,000-100,000ppm, preferably 3,000-30,000ppm base on the compound shown by the formula of an acidic substance successively existing in the reaction solution and showing acidity under a thermal decomposition condition. Brnsted acid such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid or sulfonic acid, Lewis acid such as aluminum chloride or ferric chloride (III), organic acid such as acetic acid or phthalic acid, acidic organic substance such as phenol and ammonium salt of Brnsted acid and organic acid may be cited as the acidic substance and by addition of the acidic substance, thermal decomposition reaction rate is extremely increased and the reaction can be carried out at low temperature in a short time. |
