The form imprinting machine, typically for imprinting credit card vouchers with details of a credit card transaction, has a base 12 on which the voucher can be positioned. The base 12 includes mechanisms for providing relieved alphanumeric data with which the voucher is to be imprinted. A top 14 is connected to the base for movement relative to the base between an open position permitting positioning of the voucher on the base and a closed position in which an inner surface of the top 14 is closed towards the base 12. A lever mechanism is operable to force the top towards the base and simultaneously to wipe the inner surface 66 of the top over the form such that the form is pressed against the relieved data.
