PURPOSE:To improve wettability of carbonic fine powder bearing catalyst and improve a polarization characteristic against air or fuel by forming an electrode by mixing the catalyst bearing precious metal treated by oxygen plasma on the carbonic fine powder with a binding agent. CONSTITUTION:Sodium hydrogen sulfite and hydrogen peroxide as a colloidal cohesion preventive agent are added to aqueous solution of chloroplatinic acid so as to create colloide of platinic oxide. Next, platinic ruthenium colloid created by adding aqueous solution of ruthenium chloride to colloidal solution and dispersion liquid of activated carbon of coconut husk are mixed together so as to manufacture carbonic fine powder catalyst bearing platinic ruthenium catalyst thereon. Next, after this catalyst is treated by oxygen plasma, it is mixed with the carbonic fine powder after carrying out water repellent treatment by means of fluororesin, and forming by means of pressurization is carried out on an electrically conductive carbonic paper so that an electrode substrate can be obtained. Thereby, a specific surface area of catalytic particulate wet with electrolyte is increased so that a polarization characteristic can be improved. |
