PURPOSE:To thoroughly extract the discharge capacity of a negative electrode plate by providing at least one continued heat-melted portion by ultrasonic waves partially in contact with a negative electrode lead plate in the longitudinal direction of the face of a separator in contact with the positive and negative electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:The paste mixed with manganese dioxide serving as a positive electrode active material, a conductive agent and a binder is pressed to a current collector, and it is cut into a fixed size to obtain a positive electrode plate. Lithium serving as a negative electrode active material is cut into a fixed size to obtain a negative electrode plate, and a heat-melted portion 3a by ultrasonic waves is provided in the longitudinal direction of a separator 3 made of a polypropylene porous film. Fine holes of the separator 3 are closed at the heat-melted portion 3a, the permeation of ions is interrupted, the reaction between opposite portions of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate via the heat-melted portion 3a is impaired, and the negative electrode active material is not consumed and is left only at this portion. The electrically connected state is maintained until the discharge reaction between all active materials constituting the negative electrode plate and a negative electrode lead plate is completely finished. |
