<p>PURPOSE:To increase the floating force f a hated material and stabilize the flotation by making the radial length of crucible greater than the radial length normal thereto. CONSTITUTION:Segments 12 (12a, 12b) are arrayed inside a noncircular induction coil 11 to form a crucible 13, and all of the segments with the segments 12a as part of a semicircle and the segments 12b as part of a line are arrayed on a board 7 in a race track fashion. Accordingly, a hole 14 on the lower side is linearly formed with a narrow width and its line portion has magnetic flux increased in proportion to the number of the segments 12b, so that the floating force per volume of a heated material remain unchanged with the increased number of the segments 12b. The area of the lower hole 14 is larger than a circular hole, although the width is narrower, because the hole is in a rectangular shape. It is thus possible to improve the floating force per volume of a dissolution field and increase floating stability.</p> |
