PURPOSE:To improve a cycle characteristic and recoverability after leaving a battery as it is for a long time by containing alkaline metallic ion in electrolyte of the battery filled with active material obtained by adding metallic tin or tin compound by a specific volume against lead in positive electrode active material to be filled in Pb-Ca-Sn-related alloy grid. CONSTITUTION:Pb-Ca-Sn-related alloy grid is used so as to contain alkaline metallic ion in electrolyte of a battery filled with active material obtained by adding metal tin or tin compound to positive electrode active material by 0.01-5% in molar number of tin alloy against molar number of lead in the positive electrode active material. Thereby, since tin in the grid and tin in the active material from an electrically conductive uniform layer on the interface between them, adhesion and electric conductivity on the interface between the active material and the grid can be improved so that early capacity degradation caused by deep charge/discharge can be restricted. Furthermore, by adding the alkaline metallic ion, creation of a passive layer on the interface of the grid can be restricted. Thereby, a cycle characteristic and recoverability after leaving a battery as it is for a long time can be also improved. |
