OPTICAL DISK AND ITS DRIVING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent an optical disk from being erroneously inserted in an optical disk driving device by providing an A/B side display part by which the optical disk driving device is allowed to detect the side A or the side B of a cartridge case. CONSTITUTION:The A/B side display part 17 by which the optical disk driving device is allowed to detect the side A or the side B of the cartridge case 13 is provided in the case 13. When the optical disk is loaded in the driving device, the presence or absence of the A/B side display part 17 formed in the case 13 is detected by an A/B side discrimination mechanism provided in the optical disk driving device so as to discriminate whether or not the side A/B of the case 13 is proper for the optical disk driving device. Thus, the futility of the optical disk and labor imposed on a user are eliminated.
