The present invention relates to 8-azaxanthine derivatives having the general formula: <IMG> (II) wherein R1 = H; CnH2n+1 wherein n = 1 or 3; R2 = CnH2n+1 wherein n = 1 or 5; or C6H5-; Z is the group: <IMG> wherein R3 = R4 = CH3 or C2H5, or wherein R3 and R4 are such groups as to complete together a heterocyclic ring; and wherein the substitution in the triazole ring concerns the positions 7 or 8 or 9; as well as their salts which are physiologically acceptable, their pharmaceutical compositions and the process for preparing the same.
