<p>PURPOSE:To smooth the rising of a magnetic tape recording and reproducing device by driving both reels in the directions where these reels pull each other and beginning to run the magnetic tape in this state, then starting a tension servo mechanism right thereafter. CONSTITUTION:Driving means 4, 15 are respectively provided on the supply side reel 3 and the take-up side reel 14. The supply side reel 3 and the take-up side reel 14 are rotated backward from each other by the torque corresponding to the prescribed tension to tense the magnetic tape T at the time of starting the traveling of the magnetic tape T. The traveling of the magnetic tape T on a capstan 11 is then started and the tension servo mechanism 8 is started at the time when the supply side reel 3 rotates by a specified quantity or the specified period of time elapses. The tape tension is controlled to a regulated value in a short period of time with the simple constitution in this way.</p> |
