PURPOSE:To obtain wavelength-converted high-power laser light without loss of the quality of a mode with a simple construction by employing a nonlinear optical crystal containing laser active substance to amplify an incident basic wave laser light and to simultaneously wavelength-convert the light to emit it. CONSTITUTION:When an exciting laser light Lr to be emitted from a semiconductor laser 5 is incident to a laser medium 1 to excite the end face of the medium 1 and a second exciting laser light Lr2 to be emitted from a second semiconductor laser 51 is incident from the side of a nonlinear optical crystal 20 to excite the crystal, a basic wave laser light L1 generated from the medium 1 is incident to the crystal 20 to be optically amplified, the laser L1 is wavelength-converted to generate a laser light L2 having a wave of twice of the wavelengths to be externally output through a mirror 4a. The crystal includes, for example, NYAB (NdXY1-XAl3(BO3)4), EYAB (ErXY1-XAl3(BO3)4), NAB (NdAl3(BO3)4), Nd:MgO: LeNbO3, Nd:KTP, Nd:KDP, Nd:BBO, Nd:LBO or Nd:KNbO3. |
