PURPOSE:To stabilize an image density by providing a toner consumption mode in which the latent image region of a prescribed area is formed on a photosensitive drum at the time of the initially equipping a developer and developing the latent image region to forcibly consume, the toner. CONSTITUTION:The latent image region of the prescribed area having a black image part on an image carrier 1 is formed by using one or more devices out of an electrifier, a destaticizer, and an exposing device without carrying out the scanning of an original, mainly at the time of initially equipping the developer, and prior to a normal forming mode. Then, the toner consumption mode in which an action for replenishing the toner into a developing device 4 is stopped, and the latent image region is developed, so that the toner inside the developing device 4 is forcibly consumed, and a developed toner image is removed by a cleaning device 8, is provided. Therefore, a toner electrifying quantity inside the developing device can be drastically increased without additionally providing a different expensive device. Thus, in a conventional image forming mode having reduction in the electrifying quantity of the developer, especially, the reduction in the sticking quantity of the toner on a high density part is suppressed, and a stable image density can be obtained from the initial stage of an image formation. |
