<p>PURPOSE:To detect easily the position of contact with an object by a construction wherein LEDs are provided in a line on the base end side of a light-conductive member, a light guide prepared by binding a large number of optical fibers into a bundle is provided, an image sensor is connected to an image processing device and the outer periphery of the light-conductive member is covered with a cover of an elastic body. CONSTITUTION:In a tactile sensor, a large number of LEDs 3 are provided at the end face of a light-conductive member 1 formed of a transparent plate of acrylic resin or the like. In the outer periphery of this member 1, an air layer 4 for effective total reflection is provided between the member and a cover 10. Inside the member 1, a light guide 7 is provided by binding a large number of optical fibers into a bundle. Moreover, an image sensor 8 is connected to a computer so as to process a detected image. The cover 10 is formed of an elastic body sheet of which the inner surface is made to be a white reflective surface. When the shape of the cover 10 is changed by its contact with an object and the part of the contact is pressed against the member 1, a light reflected totally inside the member 1 is reflected diffusedly in the part of the contact with the cover 10 and caught as an image by the sensor 8, and the state of the contact with the object can be known.</p> |
