PURPOSE:To make it possible to take out the constant quantity of liquid highly accurately by bringing only a pipette tip into contact with the liquid, and performing liquid-level detection and liquid sucking work in contact type characterized by excellent detecting accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Under the standby state of the apparatus, a pipette tip 3 of a pipette device is attached to a pipette-tip attaching tube part 4. The pipette tip is stopped at the upper standby position. A sample container 1 is stopped at a lower liquid taking-out position. When a frame 6 is moved downward with a vertical moving mechanism 11, a part of light emitted from a light emitting source 5 which is turned ON by the movement of the frame is propagated in the tip 3 and reflected from the lower edge. The light is received with a photodiode 10 through an optical fiber 9. The light is detected by a detecting circuit 8. The descending movement is continued, and the lower edge of the tip 3 reaches the sample liquid. During this period, the intensity of the received light in the circuit 8 slowly increases. When the edge reaches the liquid, the condition is suddenly changed, and the intensity becomes almost zero. Then, the pipette device is stopped, the liquid is sucked during the driving of an air cylinder 14 and the sucked amount is accurately obtained. |
