<p>PURPOSE:To provide a new deinking agent containing an ester, etc., derived from a specific polyhydric alcohol and a monobasic fatty acid, useful for the production of reclaimed pulp from waste printed paper and giving a high-quality reclaimed pulp having high whiteness and low residual ink content. CONSTITUTION:The objective deinking agent contains one or more substances selected from (A) an ester produced by reacting a >=4C polyhydric alcohol (preferably tri- or tetrahydric alcohol) with a monobasic fatty acid in the presence of an acid catalyst under reduced pressure at 100-250 deg.C and (B) the above ester modified with a polycarboxylic acid or an oxycarboxylic acid. The deinking agent may contain a compound of formula (R1 is 4-24C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is 2-4C alkylene; P is 5-100) in addition to the above ester.</p> |
