The brake fluid pressure control unit has a valve (19) in a main pipe (10) connecting a master cylinder with the wheel cylinders and a check valve (14). A brake fluid receptor in the form of a stepped piston (25) receives and breaks down the pressure produced by the master cylinder if the master cylinder is subject to renewed pressure after the main control valve (17) has closed in response to sensor signals.
