Combined boring and centering tool - has one-piece shaft and flange whose shoulders act as frictional faces against chuck face and prevent tool slippage

A boring and centering tool for use in the chuck of machine tools is prevented from slippage in both circumferential and axial directions. The tool comprises a one-piece shaft (2) and flange (3) the shoulder of the latter (3) acting as a frictional face against the face of the chuck (4) which has a similar dia. Ease of tool handling is improved and better torque transfer between chuck (4) and tool is achieved. USE/ADVANTAGE - The boring tool can be used in all machine tools, esp. NC controlled machines, improves torque transfer and prevents tools from being pushed backwards into the chuck.
