The invention comprises a frame for holding plastic bags such as trash and leaf bags, wherein the frame is provided with at least three linear sides joined at their ends to form a closed frame the corners of which are sharply rounded off to produce bag gripping corners which produce bag indentation, when a bag top is pulled through the frame and stretched back over the outside, short of bag puncture when such bag carries a normal load. The outer side of the frame may, additionally, be vertical, when the frame lies in a horizontal plane, and the outer underside of the frame sharply cut off to provide a biting edge contact with a bag stretched thereover to improve the bag holding ability of the frame. In an alternate form the frame is curved, preferably circular, and the corners, so termed, are constituted by corner-like projections on the outer periphery of the frame.
