<p>A low cost video cassette has a base (3) formed of a generally flat wall portion, with sloped converging front walls spaced inward from a front edge and with flat tape guiding walls (21) extending upward from medial, generally rectangular projections (19) of the base. Tape reel guides are molded in the base. Integrally formed tape reel locks (111) have operators extending into a groove formed in the plane of the base for receiving an actuator which extends into, but not beyond, the plane of the base. Flaps (31) are hinged to the openings (39). Cantilevered leaf springs (43) connected along outer edges of the openings or to the flaps extend toward the base wall when the flaps close the openings to urge tape reels downward. The latch (79) has an upward extension for engaging an inner surface of the dust door (7).</p> |
