<p>A surgical retractor having a barrel (12) with a distal end (11) and handle (14). A plurality of retractor pods (15) are located at a plurality of angles and positions on the lateral periphery of the barrel (12). The retractor pods (15) are movable between a retracted position in which the pods are substantially flush with the surface of the barrel (12) and an extended position in which each pod (15) outwardly and laterally projects from the barrel (12). The handle means (14) is operatively connected to the pods (15) to move the pods (15) between the retracted and extended positions.</p> |
