A power test bed, has two parallel horizontal rollers (10, 12) inset into the floor. A brake (26, 28) is connected to the rollers and a device measures the power transferred from the rollers to the brake. A coupling device (30) arranged between the rollers and the brake alternatively connects one of the rollers with the brake. A double linkage shaft (30) with coupling parts (36, 38; 40) is arranged between the output shafts of the rollers and the input shaft of the brake. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for fork lift trucks and similar working machines, the test bed, which costs relatively little to manufacture, enables vehicle's power to be tested equally for forward and reverse motion.
