The printing machine has an ink reservoir with an inclined surface (3) leading to the outlet in which a roller (9) is fitted. The gap (4) between the surface (3) and the roller (9) is carefully controlled to meter the outflow of ink. The reservoir is provided with two stirrers (11) mounted side by side. Each stirrer has a blade (2) which lies against the surface (3) and oscillates about an axis (5) which is perpendicular to the surface (3).
