<p>A computer system has enhanced image and graphics capabilities. The internal commands can be synchronised with respect to whether the display is or is not within a specified subset of the available lines in the display. Thus, rewriting of the display memory can be guaranteed to be invisible to the user. The user can readily manipulate very complex graphical objects using stencil, translator, clipper and pixel attribute modification commands. Patch memory access is employed, and improved techniques are adopted for rendering and tracking lines in a patch accessed subsystem, for displaying the outline of a convex graphical primitive, and for calculating the interior of a complex bounding polygon and for traversing a polygon patch-by-patch.</p> |
