<p>PURPOSE:To decrease walking distance of a picker by storing that of the items stored on a flow rack etc., which has the largest frequency of discharging, at a certain takeout port, and storing other items at the takeout ports in proximity in the sequence from larger frequency of discharging. CONSTITUTION:Takeout ports 2 are arranged on the front of a flow rack to allow taking-out of different items W. That 2a of the takeout ports 2 which is for the item Wa with the largest frequency of discharging shall be located in the center for the sake of effectiveness. The item Wb second frequently discharged is taken out of the takeout port 2b. Likewise the items Wc, Wd... in the sequence of discharge frequency are placed in 2c, 2d... adjoiningly. Those items with least frequency are taken out of the leftmost and rightmost takeout ports of the flow rack 1. This arrangement permits a picker to take out objects while sitting in the center mostly with less occasions to travel to the left and right ends.</p> |
