PURPOSE:To obtain an extract effective for prevention and treatment of disorders caused by active oxygen radicals or peroxylipids in vivo by extracting hop powder with a solvent and concentrating and drying the extract liquid. CONSTITUTION:Strobili of hop is directly powdered or dried and powered and then the powder is extracted in one or two or more kinds of solvents (preferably, n-hexane, ethyl acetate) at ordinary temperature or about 4 deg.C. The resultant extract liquid is concentrated and dried under reduced pressure by ordinary methods. The extract has radical scavenging activity against 1, 1-biphenyl 1-2- picryl hydratyl, suppressing action on peroxylipid formation, rat ventricular arrhythmia preventing action, anti inflammatory action, etc., and is used in the fields of medicine, food and drink, cosmetic, etc. |
