PURPOSE:To obtain a film excellent in humidity resistance in spite of an edible water-soluble polysaccharide film by forming a layer containing at least one kind of fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol, and a derivative thereof as a main component to at least one surface of a film based on water-soluble polysaccharide. CONSTITUTION:Water-soluble polysaccharide is dissolved in water pref. containing polyhydric alcohol in a ratio of 20wt.% or less, pref., 10wt.% or less and a film is formed from this aqueous solution by a casting method or a wet molding method and subsequently dried so that moisture content becomes 25wt.% or less. pref., 20wt.% or less to obtain a film based on water-soluble polysaccharide. By applying fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol or a derivative thereof to the surface of the water-soluble polysaccharide film thus obtained, a polysaccharide film excellent in strength physical properties, soluble in hot water and excellent in humidity resistance and blocking resistance is obtained. |
