PURPOSE:To smooth an operation by specifying a nozzle piercing height and a laser condensing position in a laser piercing operation, carrying out piercing and then returning the nozzle to the cutting height. CONSTITUTION:In the laser piercing wherein a material W to be machined is irradiated with condensed laser beam through the nozzle N and pierced as assistant gas is injected, the piercing operation is performed by setting the height of the nozzle N to the piercing height larger than the height in the time of cutting and the laser beam condensing position to a position in the time of cutting. After the piercing operation is completed, the nozzle N is returned to the height in the time of cutting. Hereby, fume of vaporized metal generated from the material W to be machined, molten metal and molten oxide, etc., can be prevented from sticking to a lens and the nozzle and the operation can be executed smoothly. |
