1,134,963. Hydroxyl ammonium sulphate. INVENTA A.G. F R FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG. 24 April, 1967 [22 April, 1966], No. 18799/67. Heading C1A. [Also in Division B1] Hydroxyl ammonium sulphate solution is formed by the hydrogenation of nitric oxide in a sulphuric acid solution using a platinum on carbon catalyst. To prevent the reaction going too far, the catalyst is separated from the solution by feeding the reaction mixture into a filter unit through entrance 1 at a rate such that some of the solution flows past filter 4 carrying the catalyst with it, thus preventing deposition of the catalyst on the filter and any unnecessary prolongation of the contact between catalyst and solution. The hydroxylammonium sulphate solution is withdrawn at 3.
|
