PURPOSE:To remove an organic chlorine compound and soot efficiently by constituting part of a filtering material installed on a dust collector of a filtering material containing a catalyst for the oxidation of an organic chlorine compound used for removing an organic chlorine compound by oxidation. CONSTITUTION:A filtering material A attached to a dust collector for removing soot from an exhaust gas consists of an external layer 1 and an internal layer 2. Then at least, part of the filtering material A, for example, the internal layer 2 is constituted of a filtering material containing an organic chlorine compound oxidation catalyst (e.g. catalyst bearing Pt in the Ti-Si oxide base) for the removal of an organic chlorine compound from an exhaust gas by oxidation. Subsequently, an organic chlorine compound of high toxicity such as polydibenzodioxine chloride or polydibenzofuran which are contained in an exhaust gas discharged from a combustion furnace, and soot, can be removed efficiently to provide the dust collector and a reactor for the removal of an organic chlorine compound independently. |
