PURPOSE:To reed aloud the document data within a decided time with high naturalness by calculating the unit time required for synthesization of voices per beet according to the document read-aloud time set previously end based on the total beet number of the document data and the length of pause set in the document and then controlling the voice synthesization output of the document data. CONSTITUTION:The document data reed selectively out of a document data memory 1 are analyzed by a document analyzing pert 6 in terms of a language. A voice synthesizing device 12 synthesizes and outputs the voices based on the voice data generated based on the analyzing result of the part 6. Then a controller 2 obtains the read-aloud unit time per beet based on the read-aloud time of the document data designated previously, the length of the pause set in the document data, end the total beat number of the document data and then controls the read-aloud speed of the document date based on the synthesization of voices. In such a constitution, the document date can be outputted with synthesization of voices with high naturalness end at a proper conversation speed within a designated time.
