PURPOSE:To maintain a constant pressure in the ink container by a method wherein a thin film of a high polymeric material highly permeable to gas and stable against the ink is provided at a part of the wall of the container. CONSTITUTION:A subtank 13 having an air layer 19 at its upper part is connected with an ink-discharging head 16 by an ink leading-out pipe 15 and has an opening part at its upper part. The thin film 20 of the high polymeric material having felxibility and a relatively high gas-permeability and being stable against the ink and the like, such as silicone or polyethylene, is fitted to the opening part of the subtank 13 in a manner of being suspended in a nearly hemispherical shape. For example, when gas bubbles are generated in a main tank 11 and/or a flexible tube 12 and move into the subtanek 13 to increase the volume of the air lever, the thin film 20 is lifted up and expanded outwards so that the amount of the ink discharged from the head 16 is maintained constant. |
