<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the size of a combustion chamber in its axial direction and to enable the boiler to be advantageously mounted in view of its spacing by a method wherein a surface combustion burner is disposed while its combustion plane being in a right crossing or approximate right crossing attitude with an axis of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A burner 6 is comprised of either ceramic or metallic combustion surface member 6A having many flame holes 6a formed therein, a burner box 6B forming a gas-air mixture gas supplying passage for the combustion surface member 6A, a flow regulating plate 6C utilizing a porous plate for regulating the gas-air mixture gas and an electric blower 6E for mixing fuel gas from a fuel supplying pipe 6D with air and supplying the mixture gas to the burner box 6B. That is, this burner is of a surface combustion burner of root mixing type in which combustion is carried out at the surface of the combustion surface member 6A, wherein the combustion surface A formed by the combustion surface member 6A is positioned in an attitude where it is crossed with an axis X of a cylinder 5. Since the burner 6 is of a surface combustion burner, it is possible to shorten an axial length L of the combustion chamber 3.</p> |
