PURPOSE:To enhance the separation capacity for a sample by uniformizing the flow velocity distribution of a buffer solution by a method wherein the buffer solution is allowed to flow in an electrophoretic tank from the outside through the holes provided to the wall surface of the tank while the buffer solution and the sample are allowed to flow into the tank. CONSTITUTION:The wall surfaces 4, 4 of an electrophoretic tank 1 are formed of porous members each having a large number of fine holes 5 downwardly inclined from the outside of the tank toward the inside thereof. Further, the outer tank connected to a pump is provided to the outside of the tank 1 so as to be capable of allowing a buffer solution 2' to flow in the tank 1 from the holes 5 through a route separate from that of the buffer solution 2 flowing to the tank 1. The solution 2 is gradually supplied to the upper part of the tank 2 and gradually sucked from the lower part of the tank 1 to form the flow of the solution slowly flowing from up to down in the tank 2. At the same time, when the solution 2' is allowed to flow in the tank 1 from the outside of the tank 1 through the holes 5 of the wall surfaces 4, 4, the flow-down speed of the boundary layer part approaching the wall surfaces 4, 4 is accelerated by the flow of the solution 2' and the flow velocity of the solution in the tank 1 is uniformly distributed. |
