PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head core having a high accuracy through a simple method, by sticking a nonmagnetic material to the groove part and the gap forming surface formed at the end part of a magnetic block substance and then polishing the nonmagnetic material on the gap forming surface into a prescribed size. CONSTITUTION:The groove part 1b is formed at the front and back parts of a rectangular parallelepiped block substance 1 of the ferrite or the like excepting the gap forming surface 1a having a prescribed gap length (l). Then the nonmagnetic material 2 is put into the groove part 1b to be heated up to the melting point of the material 2, and thus both the part 1b and the gap forming surface 1a are filled with the material 2. Thereafter, the material 2 is polished until it is turned into a plane mirror surface and so that a prescribed gap length (t) is secured for the material 2 on the surface 1a. A part of the block substance 1 is cut to obtain a magnetic head core 3. Such core 3 has a higher gap accuracy than the conventional magnetic head that uses a gap spacer such as a gap plate or the like. |
