PURPOSE:To obtain the subject copolymer useful as an antistatic agent, etc., for thermoplastic resin and applicable without lowering the physical properties of the base resin by reacting a linear random copolymer composed of ethylene structural unit, acrylate structural unit and acrylic acid structural unit with a diamine. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000-50,000 and composed of 65-99mol% of ethylene structural unit of formula I, 0-15mol% of acrylate structural unit of formula II (R<1> is 1-4C alkyl) and 1-35mol% of acrylamide structural unit of formula V can be produced by reacting a linear and random copolymer of 65-99mol% of ethylene structural unit of formula I, 0-15mol% of acrylate structural unit of formula II and 1-35mol% of acrylic acid structural unit of formula III with a diamine of formula IV (R<2> is 2-8C alkylene; R<3> and R4 are 1-4C alkyl) (e.g. N,N- dimethylaminoethylamine). |
