PURPOSE:To release the high pressure condition of a pressure source after adjusting vehicle height to improve durability of a vehicle height adjusting apparatus having a low pressure gas supply portion and a high pressure gas supply portion as vehicle height adjusting portions by adjusting the vehicle height in the order of the low pressure side and the high pressure side by a control unit. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle height adjusting apparatus controlably operates front and rear change-over valves 7, 8, an atmosphere opening exhaust valve 9 and a compressor 2 in a control valve unit 13 by a control unit 14 to supply and discharge high pressure air to and from each gas chamber of a front fork 4 and a rear cushion 5 and thus adjust the vehicle height. In this case, when the vehicle height is adjustably increased, the change-over valves 7, 8 are first respectively opened and closed to operate the compressor 2 and adjust the vehicle height with the front fork 4 being placed under the relative low pressure condition. Then, the change-over valves 7, 8 are respectively closed and opened to operate the compressor 2 and adjust the vehicle height with the rear cushion 5 being under the relative high pressure condition. Thereafter, the exhaust valve 9 is opened to reduce the internal pressure in an air pipe 6 and the like. |
