The invention relates to a structure of a rotating electric machine, such as an electric motor. The body of the stator consists of a segment of sectional bar made of aluminium or the like (7), of tubular configuration, capable of externally including fixing claws and cooling fins. The two ends (21,22) of the segment of profiled bar (7), which do not undergo any machining, are slightly protruding (d) with respect to the corresponding ends of the stack of laminations (5) of the stator, fitted into the segment of profiled bar (7). The two bearing flanges (8,9) are fitted directly into the annular shoulders formed by the protruding parts of the section of profiled bar (7); these support flanges (8,9) each come into contact with a front face (23,24) of the stack of laminations (5). <IMAGE>
