PURPOSE:To twist wires in one process and to shorten working time by arranging a mandrel having spiral-shaped groove, which an element wire is guided as winding state, and rolls for adjusting shape of the element wire shaped with this mandrel between the mandrel and a twist hole. CONSTITUTION:By passing the element wire 2 through the mandrel 24, the spiral-shape is remained in the element wire 2. Further, the spiral-shaped element wire can be made to the shape corresponding to an OP unit (optical fiber unit) 1 arranged at center with the rolls 48 for adjusting. Even in the case the element wire is a steel wire having difficult-to-plastic work with high rigidity, the wires can be surely twisted together on outer periphery of the OP unit. The rolls 48 for adjusting are arranged between the mandrel and the twist hole 12, and each roll can be reciprocated to the axial direction as showing in the arrow marks A, B and also to the diameter direction as showing in the arrow marks E, F, and can be held to the desired position. By this method, twisting pitch of the element wire is simply changed. |
