Device rapidly indicating the orientation and the degrees of pitch or inclination of the support onto which it is fixed, with minimal risks of interpretation and operational errors by virtue of its simplicity. It consists of a cylinder (1) containing a neutral liquid (22) at a certain level (25), closed at its upper part by a transparent and concentrically graduated cap (2), with an index (pointer) (16) at the upper end of a rigid shaft (3) integral with a float (4) which is connected and freely articulated (6 and 7) to the base of the cylinder (1), and 4 internal panels (26). The inclination of the base (19) with respect to the virtual horizon (20) generates the righting of the shaft (3), driven by the float (4), towards the ideal vertical (21). The upper index (16) of the shaft (3) indicates, on the dial of the cap (2), the upper inclination and its direction (the internal panels (26) damp the "yaw" effect created by the pitch/roll). This device is particularly intended for rapid indications of trim in navigation and drilling at sea, and percentage slopes in topography. <IMAGE>
