PURPOSE:To obtain a new ACAT enzyme inhibitor useful as anti-cholesterol agent, comprising a substance selected from a fatty acid amide or a dihydroxy fatty acid propyl ester derived from lactic acid bacteria, etc., as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An ACAT enzyme inhibitor comprising one or more substances selected from fatty acid amides shown by formula I and formula II and dihydroxy fatty acid propyl esters shown by formula III or formula IV derived from lactic acid bacteria, etc., as an active ingredient, suitable for ordinary use as a functional food component. The ACAT enzyme inhibitor is useful as a lipid absorption inhibiting edible composition containing the ACA enzyme inhibitor derived from food components. |
