<p>The invention relates to a tyre for high speeds and heavy loads. The tyre includes two bead wires (2), a carcass (7) comprising several plys of wires placed radially, located between the bead parts and wrapped around the bead wires, each of the wrapped-round parts of carcass plys having a terminal edge, and a bracing ply (10) comprising several parallel wired plys, each of the bracing plys having terminal edges, each of the terminal edges of at least one ply of wires being enveloped by an edge-covering member (16) formed of a thin strip of rubber so that the spacing of the wires lies between a quarter and twice the thickness of the bracing wires.
